When Trey isn’t playing fetch at Carpinteria State Beach, he relaxes in the shaded patio at Jack’s Bistro & Famous Bagels.
The Carpinteria restaurant brings water to the 4-year old golden retriever with black fur who also goes by his nickname “Bill.”
“We only live three blocks away. We like it because it's dog-friendly.
They’re always accommodating for him, and we come here because they have great food,” his owner, Katherine Less, told the News-Press on a recent morning. She and her husband, Jason Less, were about to have one of their favorite breakfasts- the Blackstone Benedict. It’s a poached off on a bagel with avocado, tomato and, instead of ham, bacon. “They have a nice Hollandaise sauce here,” Mr. Lesh, who operates a nearby organic produce stand with his wife, said just before the food arrived.
Mrs. Lesh brings their daughter, Chandler who turns 2 in December, with them. She said they and Trey enjoy the restaurant’s mellow atmosphere. “I like it because Chandler can play and Trey can come. People love him. He’s super friendly.”
